I absolutely love Pura Vida Bracelets. I was shocked to found out the prices! Holy Bejeezus!!! They range from $44 to $86. What was even more shocking about this, is that these are bracelets my friends and I would make as kids. I realize a percentage of the sales goes to a go cause. I think that is great! However, The crazy cheap psycho inside of me screams DO NOT BUY THIS, KIM. YOU CAN MAKE THESE! I will admit she has a point, psycho or not. Here I will show you all the basics to making your own set of amazing bracelets. At the end I will told the cost of materials, and see if the Psycho is right. Can I make these and save money or is this a fail that just wasted my time.

First Find all Materials and get a total!!

Waxed thread- 9.59

Seed beads- 1.95

Silver tube bead- 2.69

small silver beads- 6.80

charms- 3.39

Total= 24.42, and this will make several bracelets. I feel the psycho may have came though for us all, guys!!

I live in Hawaii so I have to order most of my craft supplies. I will post the links and prices of all of the supplies needed. I am putting the supply list here and will make a separate tutorial Finding the material was a little tricky. The waxed waterproof thread was the worst. I did see sites that sold wax that you could put on your thread yourself. So that is an option. Keep in mind that a lot of these supplies are bought in groupings. That just means that you can make more bracelets. You could also find a specialty bead store near you and buy single beads. Also if you can find a better deal on any of the supplies let me know!

Waxed Cotton Thread

Found on amazon for $9.59. With Prime you can get free shipping, which is Awesome! Here is the link

Seed Beads found on Etsy, I like to support the sellers on Etsy, but you can find these anywhere from Hobby Lobby to any store really as long as it has a craft section. These beads would be in the jewelry isle. Just know, If the bead color is painted on, the beads will become clear once they are exposed to the water. I learned that the hard way when I went to the beach and by the end of the day my beads went from turquoise to clear. I got those beads at Hobby Lobby. These beads I found will not fade in the water and this seller offers many different colors for a great price. $1.95 for 20 g. packs.

The Long Silver Tube Bead found on the site goody beads. $2.69 for 10 beads in a pack. I try to find silver or silver plated metals since I have an allergy to certain metals. Also, I am pretty sure everyone hates the lovely green stain that appears on your skin from costume jewelry. Of course, if that's our thing, by all means go for it!

The Silver Beads found on Etsy. 100 pieces for $6.80. The shop is called YesBeads.

Last but not least the Charms. I found a gold feather, but you can use anything you like since its YOUR bracelets!! HA Take that world. lol Just keep in mind that, the charms need to have one hole on each side so that it will work with the bracelets better. Unless you want The charm to hang, then go for it. The world is your oyster!! (Cheesy I know, just go with it) This feather was found on Etsy for$3.39 for 15 pieces. The seller is DIYClub.
